My Journal ~
I’ve always been a journaling girl.
When I started a weekly newsletter in June of 2025,
I decided to create an online space for my weekly inspirational posts.
When you sign up for the newsletter, things I’m learning, resources, and other fun information and will be delivered to your inbox every week.
Sign up for the weekly email and I will send you a special email with some tips and tools I’ve learned on my journey.

A Fall Reset
Prepare for fall by resetting caretaking routines without losing yourself.
Season changes offer a natural checkpoint in your daily life. For caretakers, reviewing their routines can mean the difference between feeling constantly rushed and finding sustainable rhythms.
Start by listing everything you do in a week, caregiving tasks, household chores, work commitments, and personal activities. Be honest.

Letting Go of Summer
Are you struggling to let go of summer’s pace?
For many, summer means longer days, outdoor moments, and a slightly slower pace. For a caretaker, summer can bring small mercies, a bit more sunlight to lift the spirit, easier outdoor activities for your loved one, or extra help from visiting family. But as the days shorten, so does the space for those moments.

A Sacred Space to Journal
For a caretaker, life can feel like an endless stream of responsibilities, decisions, and emotional weight. In the midst of tending to the needs of others, often at the cost of their own well-being, caretakers can lose touch with their internal world. Journaling offers a sacred space to pause, process, and pour out the thoughts and emotions that are too often bottled up.

Comfort in the Familiar
Last weekend I found myself rewatching a favorite movie. As I sat there laughing, crying, and letting myself be carried away for a moment, I realized several things.
Rewatching a favorite movie can be emotionally healthy for several reasons, especially in times of stress, transition, or emotional fatigue. Here’s why:

I’m Still on the Journey…
I’m Still on the Journey…
While my caretaking journey for my mom may be done, I continue on the journey of caring for my husband.
Caretaking is one of the most sacred callings and often hides in the quiet corners of life where love meets service. It is not just about meeting someone’s physical needs; it's about reflecting the heart of Christ in every act of kindness, every gentle touch, and every moment of patience. While it can be challenging

A Sacred Pause
A Sacred Pause
After three years of caregiving and walking my mother home to heaven, the funeral has passed, the guests have gone, and I sit in the quiet stillness of this morning, realizing how much time and energy I devoted to her care.
It’s in this stillness I feel my body and soul finally exhale.

A Sacred Goodbye
A Sacred Goodbye:
Honoring My Mom After Three Years of Caregiving
Saying goodbye to my mom at her funeral this coming weekend will not be an act of farewell—it will be the closing of a sacred chapter that has been quietly unfolding over the past three years. During that time, I had the privilege, the challenge, and the calling to care for her during her final season of life. The caregiving journey wasn’t easy, but it was holy. It held within it moments of frustration, grace, exhaustion, and deep healing.

Letting Go of Control…
Letting Go of Control -
In today's fast-paced world, the desire to control every aspect of our lives can be overwhelming. We meticulously plan our days, set goals for the future, and strive to manage every detail to ensure a sense of security and predictability. However, this constant need for control can often lead to stress, anxiety, and a disconnection from the present moment.

Lessons Waves Taught Me
Lessons Waves Taught Me -
There’s a sacred stillness that comes from standing at the edge of the ocean. You plant your feet firmly in the wet sand, and for a moment, you feel grounded, strong, maybe even unshakable. But then the waves roll in—sometimes gently, other times with surprising force—and as they recede, you feel the sand beneath your feet slowly slip away. The foundation you thought was firm shifts. You're still standing, but now a little off-balance, a little uncertain.

My Maui Reset
My Maui Reset -
Not every caretaking vacation needs to be a mini one. This past week I took a caretaking vacation to Maui with my daughter and her family. One magical afternoon, I found renewal in the waves with my grandchildren.

I said, “YES,” to VBS
I said, “YES,” to VBS -
This year, I said “YES” to Vacation Bible School because, as a caregiver, I needed a break—but not just any break. I needed a change of pace that filled me up instead of draining me.

I’m Back….
I’m back…..
Caretaking is not for the faint of heart, and I've been on caretaking overload for the last 3 years. I’ve missed my newsletter community, and being absent because of caretaking responsibilities was a hard, but necessary, choice.
